except for 91 models which have ABS. The ABS unit is in the way so the only way to get it out of a 91 is to take the intake manifold off. It is possible to get it out of an 89 without taking the engine mount off. I got a lifetime alternator from B&B for around 150. 5 months later (now) I've got a dim battery light. When I first got it, it barely broke 14 volts, now it's around 13.5 with no accessories on and with the headlights on it drops to around 12.5. Not good.

I even ran a big 8 gauge amplifier wire from the alternator to a deep cycle battery. Oh well I should be able to get a waranteed replacement although taking off the intake manifold isn't fun.
