This is a hard decision to make, but I've had a devastating 2 weeks - (family caught up in Katrina, husband leaving with all the money, and losing my delivery contract, i.e. no job). Therefore, I have decided to sell my sweet little Penelope Peugeot 405s for $750 US.

89 405s, 117,000 miles; Red w/black interior; Automatic transmission; Power everything including sun/moon roof, windows, steering, etc.
She's in need of a paint job (I found an experienced body shop guy who will do it for $500 - I've seen his work and it is great)
She is inspected until Nov 30, but needs a muffler to pass PA inspection (scheduled with a guy for $275 - this included the entire exhaust, pipes, resonator and muffler). Tires, lights, frame, engine, electrical, everything else is ok.
I have the original AM-FM cassette player, with the codes, but I removed it to install my MP3/CD/AM-FM system. I have the original system and replacement speakers.

She's my fixer-upper. She is not a parts car. My plans were to do the exhaust and paint, then show her off at the next Carlisle Auto Show in 2006. However, I can’t afford to give her the love she needs right now, and with everything else going on, this is just one more thing that’s making me sad. I'm sacrificing Penelope for $750 US. With the repairs, I’m sure she would easily retail for $2000 - $3000 or more. I'm her second owner - the first guy was a physically challenged man in New Jersey, who kept the car serviced (it was his only transportation, he even had the handicapped steering, gas control and wheelchair roof rack installed. He died, his family left the vehicle sit for years, decided to sell it in 2002, and I had the opportunity to find it. The family lost the title, so a company intervened to reconstruct the title for sale in Pennsylvania.
