[Peugeot-L] 404 buying advice

To cut a long story short: I may have run across a 404 wagon tonight that sounds tempting. Haven't seen it yet, so no idea of its condition, but the idea is oddly appealing.

Anyway, can anyone here point me towards things to look for on it? I know next to nothing about these cars, and would prefer to not end up with a total basket case if I do go for it.
