You should look closely at the rt motor mount.
And listen for air leaks (with a hose) around the intake manifold where it bolts to the head
check the bolts for tight 8mm into aluminum about 17 ft/lb
There are braces at each outer end of the intake manifold
on the left end the brace goes from the throttle body to the bellhousing
on the right end it goes down to the alternator mount
If these are gone the intake will wiggle loose and the gaskets leak
I have a spare Mi16 CA ecu that I would like to sell
I find it beneficial to lube the idle speed motor with WD40 after cleaning with carb cleaner
Also the throttle position sw is adjustable and you should hear a faint click just
off it's resting position
Do you know how to dump the codes??
I can send the info if not

Subject: [Peugeot-L] Argh! '91 Mi16 idle still too high, and exhaust still thrumming...
My mechanic said he adjusted the idle, but reading
through the Haynes manual, the only adjustment is the
idle control valve and the ECU (after I spent 15
minutes looking for a idle adjustment screw). They
supposedly cleaned the ICV...my guess is it's just
better to get a new one? It's still stuck at 1250rpm
w/o A/C, 1100ish with A/C on...
Would a wonky ECU cause a bad idle? It's a CA car, so
finding one will be "fun."
I also had an exhaust shop take a look at the exhaust,
they did find a leak and tightened it near the front.
BUT, the the thrumming is still there...I think part
of the exhaust must be hitting the underside of the
car...you have to be in the car to hear/feel it...it
vibrates my driver's seat, and only when the car has
been running for a while. An exhaust mount, perhaps?
Cheers,
Paul Hughes
