Anyone who is consulting the Haynes manual for the 405 diesel (XUD7,
XUD7TE, XUD9 and XUD9TE)
PLEASE BEWARE
There is a major error in the manual. The manual says in at least in 3-4
places ( and implies in 2-3 places more) that the the cylinder No.1 is
on the flywheel/gearbox end. This is incorrect. The cylinder no.1 is
towards the timing belt end. Found out the hard way...
