Hey Brian,

It's always cool to hear from someone so enthusiastic about these cars! The injector pump is, of course, rebuildable. Unfortunately, the procedure requires many, many special tools. And, if it is to be done right, you need a test bench that will spin the pump and measure the output volume and pressure. If that were not enough of a deterrent, the service procedures for these things really don't seem to be available to the general public. At least, I couldn't find one for my Rotodiesel pump in my '78 504. I was able to disassemble mine to replace all the rubber seals, but I did nothing with the hydraulic head itself, except to remove and replace it as a unit. I have no experience with the Bosch pump on your car.

I guess the moral of the story is, you should take it to a shop that services Bosch diesel injection pumps. They should charge a fairly reasonable rate and will do a fine job.

Somewhere on the web there is a French bulletin board with photos detailing the disassembly and reassembly of a Bosch VE pump, but I still don't see how you'd calibrate it without the proper shop equipment.

Good luck!
