Hi.
I had an 82 604 TD 5 speed. it was the 2.3L Td engine like the one you are
looking at. I bought with 156.000 miles, drove the car for
about 8 years and sold it with 315.000. had only around $ 1000.00 in repairs
beside normal wear items, Tires. brakes Etc. Just a greatriding car and the
most dependable car I ever owned, not to mention 35 mpg. on trips, the great
ride and handling, Much better than the 85 M-B 300TD that replaced the 604.
But !! my favorite is still my 75 504D that has been fitted with the XD3T
engine along with a 5 Speed tranny, and 505 Seat's.
