The TDC sensors in the 405s produce an AC voltage about 1 Volt when cranking I would asssume that the tach sensor is somewhat related and may do the same

I am getting down to fixing my tacho an the turbo diesel, which   stopped working about 2 years back

The TDC sensor on the flywheel is properly connected and the two wires   from the sensor are showing continuity till the 4 pin tacho connector   at the back of the instrument cluster.

  My questions are:

  1. Is there any way to test the TDC senser? Does it generate any voltage/waveform. Is there any static test for it?
  2. Is there any way to test the tachometer in the instrument cluster? is there any waveform/voltage etc that I can feed it to test?

  Thanks and regards
