I have come across two 505 V6 models where the ABS seems to overheat or
something. They are both 1987 models.
The first one did it while stuck in a traffic jam, and the second one
while towing a heavy load up a long hill.
In both cases, the pump sounds like it is running, but the pressure does
not build up and both the brake and abs lights are on. There is no power
assist on the brakes, so there is actually no pressure.
I am wondering if too much heat from the engine is causing the problem.
Sitting with the bonnet open to let things cool down for about 15
minutes, plus unplugging and re-plugging the earth lead, fuses and
relays for the abs, then it started working normally again.
Anyone else come across this or have a fix or any suggestions?
thanks
Kevin
