I replace rear mufflers every 2 yr max
Even with drilling small drain hole at the low spot
They rot from the inside with condensation and from the outside with salt
I use a 'cheap' $45 Walker universal on the 405
But they are crapola
I wish they made a SS muffler in that 405 size the extra $100 would be welll worth it

the only pug that i owned that needed exhaust work was my 1980 504d everything else still has the original, and they all have over 100,000 miles. ya learn something new every day. thanks
