RE: [Peugeot-L] swap out seats?

I've never actually heard anyone complain about Peugeot seats... It's a first for me...

As for options, the newer (86+) seats out of a 505 STI or Turbo will have adjustable lumbar support (if it's still working), other than that you'll probably have your work cut out and not necessarily get an improvement.

Another option might be to tear into a domestic seat that actually has pneumatic lumbar adjustment. I used to work in a Salvage yard so I tore apart a Aerostar driver seat and grabbed the bladder, air lines, pump and switches so that I could retrofit it into another seat... Never got around to it - but I'm sure it'd work, and it would likely be cheaper and easier to purchase and install...

Hope that helps...

Rabin

Subject: [Peugeot-L] swap out seats?

Hi Group,

I would like a recommendation for alternative seats for an '83 505 gas. Neither the original nor an earlier style offer adequate lumbar support. I haven't found any aftermarket cushion or device to serve. My choice is to find a wrecked car of any make and switch out seats. I don't want to have to do much engineering to get them in place. Does anyone have any experience with this issue? I am using the car daily to deliver pizza. It is a great ride and easy on the body in most ways but the seats issue. A local mechanic who worked at the former dealership provides the maintenance and occasional recycled parts. It has been very economical due to this arrangement and a very nice ride as well. The gas prices is the big issue as I get only 17 mpg or so.

Thanks,
John
