Re: [Peugeot-L] I'm getting a diesel! 505, of course...

Our '85 SRD turbo is performing beautifully, thanks to a brand new head & recon fuel pump. And, yes, it's my wife's car, as I use the 505 GTI wagon for work. She loves it. (And incidentally, we've never had a back ache in a Peugeot seat, despite (my) lower back problems & many runs to Adelaide, 1,200 kms away. Whereas my dad's Volvo always left me feeling sore, even in my 20s.)

One little problem with the SRDt... it still smokes heavily for the first, say, 15 mins round town, even with fuel pump timing checked & re-checked. Anyone have any suggestions?

Another thing the mechanic noticed was that the glow plugs only glow at the tip, as opposed to others that glow the full length of the "shaft". Anyone know if this is normal?

Poor "Diesel Dan" had it's 2 driver's side tyres slashed the other night... along with 15 - 20 other people's nearby, over a 2-week period. Bastards... there's a lot of poor, sad, dysfuctional types here in Katoomba. How're things in your area?

cheers-

F.
