May I suggest: scan the archives.

I got a number of comments about a year ago when I got a Œ85 TD wagon. Many things are still not clear to me, but then I didnıt follow up with specific questions. The car just keeps running.

Both Shell & Chevron make a 15W40 diesel oil Chevron is even at Costco in a 4 pack of 1 gallon containers. Thatıs what I initially used, but on the last oil change I tried Mobil One 10w30. Donıt know yet if this was a good idea or not. I still PLAN on 3k oil changes but often it take an extra 1 or 2k to get to it. NAPA carries the oil filter needed.

I get 25-27 mpg in city driving; the same on the highway; many TD owners report 30+ mpg on the highway I donıt know if it is an engine tuning issue or something else as the reason I donıt get that.

In the meantime Iım maintaining two XN6s; I havenıt had the time to learn diesel. Iım going to wait a while before I consider biodiesel; potential complications Iım not ready to deal with scare me off. The new low sulfur fuel I have no idea what that implies for us. I do use a additive with every fuel fillup (Stanadyne or something like that); a pint container fits neatly in the fuel side compartment in the back.

The Œ85 TD wagon has replaced the Œ87 XN6 as the daily driver. But I weigh the tradeoff since diesel fuel here is more expensive than premium gas. I like the '85 seats better.

Next month will be the real test for the wagon: we are moving 90 miles away and Iıll be making several round trips a week with the TD wagon pulling a utility trailer (it has a receiver hitch; I think the Peugeot is rated for 2000 pounds; Iıll try not to stretch that to much).
