Hi Nick,
An '82 is now 23 years old. Their are two general places I would consider.
One is ALL the lines, even (or especially) in those places where they go
behind or through some hanger or other structure -- one pinhole leak could
be just that, or it could be the beginining of sieve city! The other is any
place where the master might send fluid back into the big round thing whose
name escapes me at the moment -- and it's not my wife -- either to fill the
chamber or to make its way into the cabin and down under the floor mat into
the sound dampening material between the floor and the floor mat or carpet
(maybe into the carpet, if you have a rubber mat down to protect it, as I
have in two of mine).
I don't like either of those possibilities, because they are insidious.
You'll continue to have a good breaking time until the day that a cow
wanders into the road in front of you in the fog, and you have to stand on
your brakes -- that's when they'll break a line or diaphragm!
There is a third place -- around the boots to the wheel cylinders, if you
have drum brakes in the rear, although I would look real hard with a bright
light at front calipers, as well.
Make us all smarter with what you find!
Gene
