I am fairly sure that the 604 did not come out with the 2.9 engine with
K-jet.
It did come out with the 2664 cc engine with K-jet rather than the
single/twin carb setup though.
The k-jet 604 was from around 1981 (possibly earlier, but I do have an
81 for parts) through to at least 1985.
There is a huge difference in driveability between the carb 604 and the
k-jet 604 (much better) but the 505 has a number of superior features
that come with electronic injection
