Unlike the DOT spec bulbs, overwattage H4 bulbs do not create too much
heat for the bulbs, nor do they create too much glare for drivers.
However, on many lamps, the overwattage bulbs create too much heat for
the reflectors. YMMV.

I actually went with whatever the local VW shop had in stock for my
Volvo (takes 1 H4 and 2 H3s per side). I ended up with Flosser,
Cibie, and Jahn bulbs. All reported to be quality brands. The
impression I get is that if the bulbs are made in (Western) Europe,
they're probably going to be good quality.
Ultimately, my preference would be to deal with Daniel Stern
(www.danielsternlighting.com). Primarily, I like him because he's so
knowlegable about automotive lighting. Even if you don't buy anything
from him, his website has quite a bit of worthwhile information.
