Hey all,
I was "thumbing" through the Peugeot-L archives the other day and came
across some postings about driving a 504D at 70mph. There are some
who contend that this kind of behavior is a bit too much for the old
girls, and can lead to blown head gaskets & such. Someone suggested
that overdrive may be a solution, but it seems to me that the engine
is working pretty hard with direct drive, and overdrive would lower
the engine speed but perhaps require even more throttle. Well,
diesels don't have throttles, but you all know what I mean. Anyway,
I'm rambling.
I have a _long_ trip in a 504D coming up this weekend, and was
wondering what it'll safely cruise at. I usually keep it under 60 in
my car, but not always. What's the group consensus? What about for
an XD2S or XD3T?
