Hi Bill!
A common problem. I recall it happening here about 8-9 years ago. The nice
lady that lived with me then was the resident electrical connections wizard.
I remember her tearing things apart with glee, lots of contact cleaning,
maybe some part swapping, and the whole system has worked fine since, even
in her absence of 5 years. (I've got a few other gremlins I could use her
help with.) I don't have a perfect mempry for what she said had been the
problem, but it seems as though cleaning contacts between wire ends and
parts was the fix. That WOULD include any applicable ground connections!
