It might be based on the public statement from Folz at the francfort
auto show last month. Starting in early 06, Peugeot will have the
Partner (and Citroen Berlingo) with a diesel hybrid. He did go on to
say that he wasn't too keen on jumping on the hybrid bandwagon,
because with the new diesel engine with the FAP (PF in english,
particle filter) and brand new secondary particle "trap", it is
cleaner overall than all the competitors hybrids, without the
complexity and cost and that hybrids aren't really economically viable
at this time.
On the other hand, Peugeot will introduce a small SUV based on the
brand new Mitsubishi Outlander, also introduced at the Francfort show
in september. The Peugeot will be introduced in 2007 as the 4007 and
as a Citroen C7.
You can see a "photoshop" rendition of what it will probably look like:

It would probably be powered by a 136hp HDi engine.

407 Coupe V6 HDi is what i'd like to get! Of course, still no
announcements that Peugeot will ever come back to the US (I mean by
that a hard set date).
