Yeah..the 9004 plugs are different than the H4 plugs. You'll need to modify that or make adapters
(I just cut mine.) If your new E-codes didn't come with H4 bulbs, yes you'll need them too.
Did you get just the H4s or did you get the twin-beam H4/H1s?
