[Peugeot-L] 89 505 Turbo with ABS Brakes

Our 1989 505 turbo has the ABS brakes with an electric booster pump and spherical reservoir. The brakes boost seems low. My daughters complain that the Turbo is harder to stop than the 1989 SW8 2.2. Is this system just "like that" or is something failing here?
