Hi, just purchased a used 504 Diesel Air Cleaner assembly that will
not be installed in a Peugeot and I am not familiar with the 504 at
all. The air-cleaner is all oily inside. The used filter has lots of
oil on it. Tell me... is it common for the 504 diesel air cleaner to
get all oily like this? My guess is since the open end of the
air-filter is in the engine bay the sooty engine might allow oils to
collect in the air cleaner but curious. Or... do you supposed to
apply clean oil to the filter foam or something for it to work. Just
curious..
