The 405 automatic uses the same neutral/reverse switch as a 505 w/3hp22 it can only be adjusted by adding or removing washers I've done it on a 505 to compensate for wear of the lever in the trans

usually a switch in the transmission, its only 2 wires and can be bypassed. Don't know of any adjustment.
