I'd start with cleaning and re-doing ALL the grounding trees under hood - I'd suspect the one on the inside of the header panel by the left light. There should be other grounds as well - so find all that you can and clean them.

Once those are done - I'm guessing some of the weirdness will be gone.

In my experience - the electrical gremlins were because of the crappy connectors (not are weather proof), and the exposed grounding trees. It's almost always poor ground or a crappy connection!

What are elderly French cars good for if theyr'e not riddled with   electrical gremlins??

So, engine running, turning on the head lights makes the temp and fuel   gauges both go up 1/8 an inch. Use the turn signal, and both gauges   jump up and down in unison with the turn signal....Also, with the head   lights on, the turn signal indicators are dimly lit.

So I'm thinking there is trouble within the instrument panel itself, or   maybe some relay nearby??? This car suffered a water leak from the   sunroof, while it sat for a summer 2 years ago. (THere was an inch of   water on the floor, and a plant growing from the carpet!!)

Any ideas? Do you think I'm on to something here?
