Tim,
I wouldn't crank the engine until you get in there
and replace the belt. Then, once everything is timed
correctly, you can try to restart. If it doesn't
start, then you'll have some diagnostics to do. Its
possible that you got lucky and didn't destroy the
engine. But, to do any diagnostics without tearing
the engine down requires an intact timing belt so you
can see if you still have compression and the like.
