In 1990/91, I spent a year in Malaysia (where a recent arrival on the
motoring scene was locally assembled 505's)
The local term for engine oil was "black oil"
I heard of a local who bought a used car, and about year later when the
engine was acting up, some one asked if they had ever changed the "black
oil"
To which the reply was "why? Isn't it supposed to be black?"
