[Peugeot-L] 505 dashboard replacement

Hi-

In the not-too-distant future I intend to replace the damaged dashboard in my '87 505 with a used, uncracked replacement.

I would like to hear back from group members who have some thoughts about what other operations should be performed while the dash is out.

For the most part everything seems to be in working order, but if some items that are normally difficult to access should be checked or replaced while the dash is out, I'd like to go ahead and tackle those jobs as insurance against any future problems.

The one item that has been giving some problems is the heater fan. About half the time it emits a high-pitched squeal, and less often it makes a grinding noise that sounds like a bearing going bad. Other times it works properly and makes no irregular noises at all.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts,
Roger Hugh Dana
