[Peugeot-L] Peugeot 505 front seats

On my 405 I had to use an impact hammer, but the torx head bolts do come out. I can not remember if the threads are exposed below the floor, but it would be wise to spray them with some type of oil/penetrant.   I've done two successful repairs, both on 405 leather seats.   One was on my 405S: one of the seams on the driver's seat had separated (seat, not back). The piece of leather which fits across the front had a very deep and insightly crack. I took it (the whole car) to a specialist whose shop I had visited and whose work I had seen on M-B's and other high-end cars. He took out the seat, replaced the cracked piece and another one which had dried out. He charged me something nominal like $125. The leather doesn't match perfectly, but the workmanship is virtually identical. I'd have had him redo the whole seat if I'd have known his work was that good.   My Mi16 driver's seat had the dreaded severe wear on the back side support. I found an almost mint passenger side seat, removed the entire back cover, and replaced it on my car. I had to buy the bullring pliers, and I did not do a perfect job, but it looks tons better.   I think, if you have mechanical ability and patience, short of the OEM pieces, the best route is to remove the seats and seat covers and have a shop remake/repair the covers. On disassembly, take notes and pictures.   It's easier to have whole and acceptable seats to simply bolt in, but you'd probably have a better chance of seeing God than of finding such a set.   Bill
