Barry,

I know nothing of the shipping issues but would offer this advice. There are companies in the UK that will carry out car inspections but you have to expect to pat around £100 for this service. The older style (Non BMW Mini's) did have a problem with sub frames rotting out. These are replacable and available but would add a serious amount to the project if you pick the wrong car. There are some nice examples around particularly the later Minin Cooper "S" model. The 1275 GT is a nice model but be careful it has not been rolled. These links may be of interest.

2nd I am thinking about getting a few Classic Minis from England/ Ireland and would need to have them shipped. I have started to reaserch the process and see that there are Taxes and an Autobroker is needed. Plus a shipping company. I am lucky enough to know some one that Runs a shipping company out of Tampa. I also am trying to figure out the cost of shipping one car VS renting a container and bring over 3 or 4 cars.

Has anyone done this? ANy info is appreciated.
