A few years back I transfered a set of '88 505 fiche to PDF format.
That year covered everything up to and including '87 I believe. It's
not perfect, the pictures are a little "keystoned" (wider at top than
at bottom) and some are a bit blurred but still readable. But it IS
indexed and a lot easier than loading up a microfiche reader to find
part numbers.
It is a large file, 1.5 gigs, and at the time DVD roms were not that
available so I wound up compressing it so that it could fit on 3 CD
roms. Quite a bit of a run around to unzip, assemble and install on
various platforms. In other words it didn't always work.
Suffice to say, with faster computing and the ability to put the PDF
file straight away on to a DVD Rom these days,
I'd be willing to make as many copies as there may be demand from the
group for the cost of materials and shipping. The only caveat being
that I'll only make DVD rom versions and that I don't see bootleg
copies for sale on Ebay next month. :)
