I've been working on tracing the cause of my battery drain and have a few questions.
While inspecting and cleaning the "door open" switches I discovered that the front passenger side puddle lamp did not light when its door was opened. Upon inspecting the door switch I found that the screw holding it in place was corroded. I cleaned up the switch and replaced the screw. Now that the screw is properly ground the door light is being lit when opened. I knew there was something related to the door locks or switches as I would intermittently hear the central locking chatter when all doors were shut. I guess that the ground was so weak that variations in Houston's humidity or temperature made a subtle difference.
The question is, which doors will cause the overhead light to switch on?
Both front doors appear to do this. The rear left door will do this if I ground one of its prongs to the side of the hole it fits into. (It has two wires terminating to one spade connector) Nothing for the rear right door. The rear seat overhead light is not working as its plastic housing is broken in several places.
