Funny you would say that. My best friend, whom I consider family, gave me a small plane for that reason. Its like a Peugeot of the sky, heavy, most models underpowered, roomy, comfortable, orphaned by the manufacturer, maligned reputation, misunderstood by most mechanics and pilots, and has a fiercely loyal following. And I would never giver her up, like my 2 Peugeots. Fortunately for me, he hasn't passed on, just had to give up flying.

"I have heard similar stories with other cars that required the care of a "trusted mechanic". Heard of one story where the family thought they would receive the classic upon the passing of the owner only to be surprised that the owner left it to the mechanic as he was the only one that would care for
the car the way he did.

I don't think it's an entirely crazy idea.

Good luck on the alternator, Larry. I don't have one, but I'm sure someone here does.
