Re: [Peugeot-L] red light jitters

Welcome Patrick! (I know you've posted before) For those that don't know, Mr. Whale is an old-school Peugeot tech in the mold of Peugeot Pete and Brian Holm. When he gives advice, TAKE IT.

Speaking of old school... I'm having a bit of a hard time at cold start. It (My N9T) eventually starts, but it takes usually three tries. I have in the course of maintenance in the last year replaced the cap/rotor/wires/plugs (Bosch Silbers), the , air filter, AIC and FPR. The FPR *really* helped out drivability - especially cold drivability! I have also tested the NTC, thermotime and most other sensors. Warm start is perfect. Idle and drivability are great. MPG is decent (~20 all city, sane driving).

I'm now thinking the cold start injector. Coming from the Toyota 7M engines with a very similar Bosch-L setup. We often "over there" dismiss the cold start injector all-together as any 7M in decent shape doesn't need the cold start injector. I've never heard of one being replaced in that crowd.

However, all engines are different and the N9T is not the same as the 7M. When these engines were brand new, did they start with no foot on gas with one turn? I'm more than willing to test and replace what's necessary. I have all the books. I could (and should) just go through their flow-chart diagnostics. I was just wondering if they did start on a sub freezing day with one turn and no foot on the throttle.
