You have to remove the heater core assy to get enough clearance for the rest of it. Be carefull not to put too much pressure on the valve, it is very brittle.

After a week or so away, more frustration.   It's getting to the point that I'm not having   fun anymore. It looks like a bomb went off under my dash.   AC hanging/duct to back seat removed/dash pad/on and on.   One ugly mess! Heater assy can be moved maybe two inches.   The heater core housing is undone from the middle section{only   unscrewed}.The top motor section popped off middle section.   I've got a mangled mess of loose stuff, but still don't have the   clearance{?} to remove. I know somehow I screwed up. It's only easy if   you know HOW or are more intuative than me.   I can't seem to lower assy enough to clear plastic center   dash ventilation duct. I can't slide toward passenger side   for more clearance. The heater hoses are loose. Assy is low enough   to touch transmission hump, and that still doesn't seem to be enough.   The help I've gotten so far either went over my head or doesn't apply   {quite possibly both}. HELP...please
Anybody know if St. Jude does Peugeots?
