Hi Bill,
I don't know the model, but I've always always used a generic medium
sized Craftsman 2 arm gear and bearing puller on my Mi16. The same
exact one works extremely well on the tie rod ends too, and won't
damage them like a pickle fork will. I suggest a trip to your local
Sears where I'm sure you can spot one that will work for your 405 and
dozens of other machines.
