Hello Matt,
It sounds like you are through any hardening that may have been there.
The left end of my valve grinder does the face of the valve for sealing.
The right end, with a fixture, grinds the face of the rocker where yours is
worn.
That end of the valve grinder also grinds the end of the valve stem tip.
I'd be leary of installing new rocker arms on galled valve stem tips.
