Everybody always hopes it is the O rings that are leaking, but it never is.
I believe that it the reason these tissue paper thin 405 cores corrode through
is 2 fold
First it is from not following the factory recommended 2 year limit on using antifreeze
and second it is minerals in the 'tap" water.
I would replace all your coolant with fresh 60/40 mix of new antifreeze and distilled water.
Disolve a package of 4 GM coolant leak plugging tablets and add to your fresh mix.
Pray!

Subject: [Peugeot-L] 405 DL - HEATER CORE
I've got a small leak either in the heater core or maybe the o-rings
sealing it. I've seen about a drop of antifreeze on one of the tubes to
the core but none has dripped. I also get a slight fogging of my
windshield so I think I've vaporized some antifreeze. Is it likely a
crack in core or a leaking o-ring?
Where are o-rings available and I suppose I have to take out the whole
bloody dash to repair.
Anybody got a radiator/heater core sealer they have successfully used
without plugging up the heater core? One feature I do like on the car
is lots of heat from the heater and you get it very quickly.
