[Peugeot-L] (off topic) alpine CD changer query

I have an 84 505 STI sedan that came with an older model 5952Z Alpine CD shuttle (holds 6 CD's in the trunk). Recently it has been sending me error messages and it keeps not ejecting CD's that result in my getting the error messages and not being able to use the player.

A few weeks ago, in response to a query a list member said that it was probably the micro switches. I removed the unit and its cover thinking that the micro switches would be there as plain as day and, of course, had no idea what to look for. Everything looked like micro switches to me.

My local CD/alarm specialists informed me that it was not worth it to repair and that I should get a new changer. I am, however, going to sell the car, so I would rather not spend $250 on a changer for a car that I will be lucky to sell for $1000.

Might anyone know where I could get the old unit repaired reasonably? Is that guy, Phil, still in Emeryville and, if so, couuld he contact me?
Thanks,
Ken
