First off thanks for all the help. Without you guys, I'd have bought a
dependable car by now! ;P
I just thought that I would finally wrap this baby up. My radiator has been
going strong for a few weeks now (wish I could say the same for car as it
stalled out about 30 yards from my house today - love these
french wenches!) As it turned out, I was able to keep my old rad. There
was a hairline crack in the passenger side tank and thus, the rad shop I had
brought it to was unable to find a replacement tank or repair it any other
way. I really did think I was going to have to bite the bullet and drop $400
or so for a new one. Of course, they say it's darkest before the dawn for a
reason - a few more calls turned up nothing, but I was able to ask a local
parts place if they knew a good welder. Sure enough, they gave me the best
damn welder I could hope for. This guy was magic! He ended up welding me
a new side tank out of aluminum and charged me a whopping $75! This was $50
cheaper than even the rad shop was going to charge me to just
put some sealant on the existing tank (no Oring was available and before we
found it was cracked) . Anyhow, if anyone wants to see what I mean by magic
