It's possible, blowing one up is simply a matter of putting enough power.

Either that was being driven quite gently, or it wasn't tuned very well. John Lane built up a ~500hp turbo'd V6 for his 262. I don't know what transmission he's (or was) running, but I believe he went with a Ford 9" rear end after breaking the half-shafts on the stock Dana 30 unit.

Same thing with the Volvo manual transmissions. Killing them is only a matter of putting enough power through them. They're excellent beasts at stock power levels (even slightly elevated levels). But if you turn up the boost just so, you'll kill the transmission in pretty predictible ways.

But, again, for only about 200hp I would strongly consider something less complex than a V6 motor, especially when you consider how cheap parts are for the Volvo four cylinders versus the PRV motor.
