How those VW 6 cylinder D, TD engines weren't all that bad. In fact,
I would recommend for ease of installation that you look into that
option since the components for install are already designed and
available. A better option would be to buy a complete running car,
avoiding the whole swap thing altogether. It's a lot less hassle.
The 6 cyl Vw engine had problems only when people didn't drive them
for some distance. The short trips didn't do the lubrication system
any good, especially with the valve train.
Believe me, if you think the na 6 cylinder VW diesel was slow, you
should drive the MB 5 cyl. na D engine from the same vintage.

option for the Volvo built by VW, but from what I have read and been
told, there are many, many better choices.
