It is a gas saving tool. It cuts the fuel on deceleration.
When I had a sticking one, the car idled fine (closed). When I'd leave in the morning,
everytime I shifted and started to accelerate, the car would lose power. It would buck
(like what happens when the overboost switch kicks in).
As I left the accelerator open, the microswitch would open after about five seconds,
then everything was fine, until I let off the gas all the way, closing it again. The
problem would then reoccur when I went to give it gas again.
It's easy to test with the continuity tester on an ohmmeter.
