Mike,
You would definitely be right if this were an xc, xm, or xn engine,
but it's a 405, and I have never heard of a cracked 405 head.
In my experience with USModel Peugeots, I have found that all of the
iron block engines (with the possible exception of the 304, with
which I have too little experience) crack heads routinely at high
(and some not-so-high) mileages, while none of the aluminum block
engines do (xu9-. zdjl, zm-zn-).
Has anyone found to the contrary? How about with non-USModel Peugeots?
