Hi Ken,
I've used Kirkland batteries, Walmart batteries, and the Die Hards - all are fine, so the cheapest price usually wins... Which is Costco or Walmart - and since they're made by the big guys anyway - they're usually fine with no quibble warranties which I like.
As for the type - I believe they call for group 41, but if you want a little upgrade use group 91. Cheaper batter will be group 48, but it has a lower output.
I've also modified the battery try in my 505 Turbo to run the Honda size batteries... :) Much lighter, and they have more than enough power to run it since it's only driven in the summer.
Battery tray modification is necessary though if you use anything but the group 41's...

Subject: [Peugeot-L] new battery suggestions (505)
The battery on my 84 505 STI is nearing the end of its life and needs replacement. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to brand and CCA and all that. I am located near a Sears automotive center (Die Hard) and a cosco (Kirkland). I also often go to a shop that carries Interstate brand batteries. This is not a tired alternator/regulator issue, just a tired battery. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ken
