[Peugeot-L] Cigar Lighter Reversed Polarity

I'll date myself with this story, but what the heck. I wasn't trained as a mechanic yet, for some reason I decided my first car was to be a Triumph TR3. It's probably why I became a mechanic though. Anyway, I had to have one of them new-fangled 8-track tape decks. Being marginally aware that something was odd with the wiring, I was quickly learning to dislike Lucas electrical components. I made a insulator out of a cigar box, put the deck in the box and mounted the whole affair under the dash, replete with lot's of duct tape, which back then was called hundred mile an hour tape. I had a lot of fun with that little sports car. The suspension was so stiff that on hair pin turns you could feel the tires on the inside come off the ground. Then it had those 1/3 door panels so the ground was so close you could touch it while seated. I scared the crap out of my girl friend on a number of occasions. The car of course was painted Triumph green, which matched the color of the girl's skin after one of those maneuvers.
