Holy Cow!!
I had two old beetles and eleven squarebacks --well, I liked them! -- that
I was happy to get $200.00 a piece for! Of course, I was trading in the
local hobby market. Maybe, if I went global, I would have found folks who
would pay the value of the parts that were in those buggies! Well, they
are out of the yard, and that is worth something to me.
Right, people are people, and there is no accounting for the way the world
full of them accounts value of things -- no pun intended.
I had a bunch of book samples from my days as a sales rep in the 70s. The
books were in pristine condition, but ... I remember having had quite a
time interesting any bookstore buyer in them 30 years ago, and here come
buyers at $30-50 each, plus whatever they had to pay to get them shipped
to their respective corners of the world.
