Up here in the great white north we have been stripped of our democratic right to use miles and gallons all OFFICIAL talk of fuel economy is delivered as how many liters (currently @ over $1 each) does it take to drive 100 km. Really! Could anybody make this up?

When the metric police come they will have to pry my metric converter from my cold dead hands. I was born understanding miles per gallon and I can even get my head around kms per liter but liters per 100 km is some frigging commie conspiracy.

Save me Charleton.

  http://www.sciencemadesimple.net/fuel_economy.php   Result of your conversion:

18 km/liter equals 42.34 miles per gallon (US).
